Abstract
The concept of similarity in mathematics is one of the fundamental concepts in geometry that students have difficulty in learning and relating it to everyday life. In general, among the different branches of mathematics, geometry has always faced a wider range of misunderstandings and learning challenges and this occurs only when it is intertwined with a deep understanding. In this research, the action research method has been used. According to the research conditions, available sampling method was used in this research. 12 students from the ninth grade of Somayeh Secondary School in Isfahan city were selected as a statistical sample. The use of the 7E teaching model in the action research process achieved effective result. Among other things, this method has an effective role in identifying weaknesses and strengths, problem solving ability and increasing creativity in students.
