Investigating the improvement of the understanding of the 7th level and volume of mathematics based on the use of technology in teaching

Abstract

Background and Objectives: Mathematics is utilized in daily life to solve problems and in various human activities. Geometric skills are identified as the main skills of mathematics. Evidence suggests that students struggle with understanding topics related to level and volume. Therefore, in the academic year of 2023-2024, a research study was conducted to improve the understanding of the topic of surface and volume .Methods: The research method employed is qualitative and action research. The statistical population of the study comprised all 7th-grade students of Shahid Kazemi High School of Khatam Al-Anbiya (pbuh) in Khomein City. The entire statistical population, which consisted of 31 people, was selected as a sample. Findings: Research data was collected using observation, interviews, diagnostic tools, and final evaluations. Utilizing the available theoretical and practical background, the researcher selected technology in teaching as a suitable solution to achieve the intended goal and implemented it. Conclusion: The research results indicated that the use of technology in teaching the 6th chapter of 7th-grade mathematics led to an improvement in students' understanding of topics related to level and volume, as well as an increase in students' interest.
